For a WiFi connection with POP, please refer to the following steps:
① First, confirm the SSID and password of POP: Connect POP to the computer using the 2-meter-long USB cable, open Revo Scan on the computer, and after a successful connection, click the "Settings" button to view the SSID and password of POP. After confirmation, unplug the scanner from the computer and power it with a power outlet or a power bank(if you have one) instead. Wait until the green indicator light is on.
② Set the phone's hotspot to match the SSID and password of POP: Open the "Hotspot Settings" interface on the phone, and change the hotspot name and password to match the POP's SSID and password. "Turn on" the hotspot, and wait for the message "One device connected" to appear on the same interface. Then, open Revo Scan on the phone to see that the scanner is successfully connected.
If you are using an iPhone, the overall logic is the same, but there are some differences in details. For example, on an iPhone, you need to go to "About" in the settings and change the device name to "POP". Then, go to the hotspot settings to change the password to "12345678". After enabling the hotspot, wait for the blue/green connection icon to appear in the top left corner. Then, open the Revo Scan app on your phone and wait for the connection.
Note: The scanner should be powered by a power bank or a power outlet, not by a computer, as this would result in a wired connection on the computer.
⚠️ If you want to connect to a computer, after successfully connecting to the phone's hotspot from the computer's WiFi list, open Revo Scan to see that the scanner is connected. Generally, it is recommended to directly use USB to connect POP to the computer.
But if you do need a WiFi connection, there are 2 solutions:
Solution 1:
If you are at home or the office, please borrow a laptop to help you change the SSID and Password of the POP scanner in Revo Scan. Please change them to the same as your home/office Wi-Fi on the Laptop.
To make it easier to understand, let's take this router as an example:
Home/office Wi-Fi name: Revopoint
Password: RevopointXXX
Then change POP's SSID to Revopoint, and password to RevopointXXX in Revo Scan.
Please follow the steps in this video.
Here are the steps:
1) Plug the POP scanner into your Laptop; wait for the green light to turn on;
2) Open Revo Scan; click "Settings icon";
3) Click "WiFi Client Setting", and change the SSID and password to the ones same as your router's;
4) Click "Confirm"; click "Restart" POP scanner, wait until you see a solid green light;
5) Unplug the POP scanner, exit the Revo Scan;
6) Power on the POP scanner with the power socket or power bank, don't power it on with the laptop since it will read the USB connection by default and you can't find the SSID on the WiFi list.
7) Check your phone/iPad's Wifi list, search the SSID of your router, and connect it.
8) Open Revo Scan on your iPad, wait for 10s, Revo Scan will display Scanner is connected.
Now you are all set.
Solution 2:
Connect the POP scanner to your phone via Wi-Fi mode first, and then go to your iPad/laptop's Wi-Fi list, search for your phone's hotspot, and connect it.
